all is well! we got a heartbeat at our appointment this afternoon. took a little while -- making both dave and i a bit nervous -- but we finally heard it. yay! baby block is healthy and growing just fine. we were both all smiles and misty-eyed, and then went out to celebrate our happiness afterwards with a few games of pool and a good burger dinner. =D
oh, and as another aside, all of my bloodwork came back clean. and my blood type is A+ (just in case i need that info later). the only thing that showed up was a slightly low iron count, which i knew had to be the case -- the only thing i'm really craving is red meat and hamburgers. LOL... but they said it was minor, so as long as i pay attention to my iron intake, i'm fine.
