dave and i were told quite a funny story by our friend kira last night, who is a midwife... i couldn't help but post it.
one of her patients had spoken to another midwife at their practice, telling her that she was really constipated. the midwife told her that in her stage of the pregnancy -- almost full term -- that a constipated feeling is really a sign of labor, and that she should come in. the woman insisted that she had had a child before, and she knew this wasn't labor. so she refused...
not long after, she wound up having her child in the toilet.
the moral of the story? if i'm feeling constipated at 9+months, listen to my doctor and go in to see her.
